At this time Leila completes all care in the comfort of your home. Please welcome Leila into your home as is and do not stress over a mess. Devotion Midwifery’s goal is to support family centered physiological birth in every way, and that starts with prenatal care in your home. We are actively searching for an office on the Northshore and Southshore and once we find once we will still complete in home visits once per trimester and in the initial postpartum.
Birth
Birth is an opportunity to honor a woman and birthing person’s innate wisdom. Giving birth at home allows you to birth in a familiar surrounding - having total control in temperature, lighting, sound, the ability to eat/drink as desired, and who is present for the birth of your baby.
Active monitoring of birther’s vital signs and intermittent auscultation of baby’s heart tones using a hand-held doppler
Use of professional birth pool
An assistant or student to maintain order and cleanliness of the birth space, assist the midwife at time of delivery, disinfect and deflate the pool, keep the birth team (You too, partner!) hydrated and nourished, and will even do the last load of laundry or dishes . We plan to leave your home how we found it.
On-site emergency equipment and medications including IV fluids, postpartum hemorrhage prevention and protection, resuscitation equipment, and non-allopathic alternatives
Devotion Midwifery highly recommends hiring a doula and birth photographer to be part of your team. Doulas offer continuous emotional and physical support while your midwife is providing medical care. Please consider local birth professionals to join us and get a discount on care!
