Now in her third year of midwifery school and in her primary phase of training, Emma is deeply enjoying hands-on care and witnessing women’s strength firsthand. She dreams of one day opening a maternity home where mothers can birth and recover in peace, surrounded by support and gentleness. Teaching is another passion close to her heart, and she hopes to mentor future midwives and continue sharing knowledge and encouragement with others entering the field.

To date she has attended and supported over 50 births at home and in birth centers! It is her goal to help the families she serves feel empowered, informed, respected and supported during their pregnancy, birth & postpartum. Nicolette Quave is a wife, mother of three, doula and student midwife. The world of birth was opened to her after the birth of her first baby. What started off as emotional support as a doula has blossomed into pursing midwifery as a chance to change birth as it’s portrayed by the masses. Nicolette’s goal in midwifery is for everyone to know that they were made to birth their baby and to eliminate the need for the redemptive birth. Nicolette is currently following the PEP program to become a licensed certified professional midwife. She is planning on joining the Devotion team once she is licensed and eventually open up a practice of her own to service Gonzales, LA and surrounding areas. Nicolette is honored to be a part of your birth story and caring for you during such a monumental moment in your life.

Eli lives, learns, and works in New Orleans as a licensed student midwife. She also provides doula support a few times per year. Eli always been interested in science and the human body, which led her to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Louisiana State University. After a few years of searching for her passions, she offhandedly enrolled in a doula course, which opened her up to the world of birth and eventually led me to the field of midwifery. She have been working and training as a student midwife in the birth assistant role for a year, and is currently enrolled in midwifery school at Midwives College of Utah.
She is passionate about providing holistic, inclusive, accessible, and evidence-based care that leads to positive, empowering birth outcomes for people in my community. Eli is also committed to social justice advocacy, particularly regarding reproductive justice. Safe, comprehensive midwifery care has the power to combat birth disparities, which are especially pervasive in southeast Louisiana. Positive birth experiences can be the foundation for healthier families and communities and affect revolutionary change in the world.
