When researching for a midwife, I had in mind that I wanted to birth with as few interventions as possible and have a calm yet empowered experience. No birth outcomes are certain, but I am sure that the respect and care I was shown throughout my time with Leila contributed to my daughter’s dynamic birth. I first met with Leila before I was even pregnant to chat about her process and gab about birth in general. She is incredibly knowledgeable and provides the sense of ease and confidence one wants most in their birth team. From that first meeting, I knew that I had met someone special who was looking to empower her clients and radically shift modern prenatal care practices.

My experience with Devotion Midwifery was excellent at every step. The Devotion team is professional and provides truly client-centered care. Leila is impossibly warm and has an infectious joy for life and her work. She always makes sure you are well-informed and a participant in the direction your care will take. I felt profoundly safe and held by her throughout my prenatal appointments as well as my multi-day labor. Most impressively, Leila trains student midwives and is a true community leader here in South Louisiana, where high-quality prenatal care is rare and so needed. My greatest wish is that others will experience the dignity and joy of being cared for by Leila and her team.
